United Way of the Coastal Bend collects donations for residents affected by fires in Sinton, other local areas

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS – United Way of the Coastal Bend established a Fire Disaster Relief Fund to help raise donations for residents affected by the recent fires in Sinton and surrounding areas. The fund will be used to support relief efforts and help local nonprofit agencies provide direct services to those needing assistance.

"We want to do all we can to support residents affected by the wildfires," said Stephanie Jordan, President and CEO of United Way of the Coastal Bend. "They will need the community’s help in the weeks and months ahead as they recover from their losses."

Thousands of dollars already has been raised thanks to corporate partners and through individual donations.

Gulf Coast Growth Ventures donated $5,000 and the Port of Corpus Christi contributed $7,500.

"The Port of Corpus Christi stands ready to assist our neighbors in Sinton and other communities impacted by wildfires," said Port CEO Kent Britton. We’re proud to partner with the United Way of the Coastal Bend to assist those in need."

100% of the donations received will go toward response and relief efforts in the Coastal Bend.
