Steel Dynamics donates $200K to United Way of the Coastal Bend's Fire Disaster Relief Fund

SINTON, TX - Steel Dynamics presented a $200,000 check to United Way of the Coastal Bend this week benefitting the Fire Disaster Relief Fund.

The April 11 presentation is the result of a dollar-for-dollar match of donations by the Sinton-based steel mill to the nonprofit's fundraising efforts.

That match brought the total raised to more than $400,000. All of the money collected will be used to support relief and recovery efforts for those affected by last month's fires in Sinton.

"Steel Dynamics is proud to step up and help our community when it needs it the most," said Dennis Black, General Manager of Steel Dynamics' Southwest-Sinton Flat Roll Steel Division. "We were glad to set the example with the match and see so many others join us in this worthy cause."

OTHER DONORS

Other donations came from AEP Texas, Ambrose Construction, Corpus Christi Association of Realtors, Blanchette, Bull Moose Tube Company, Chemours, Enbridge, EOG Resources, Inc., Gulf Coast Growth Ventures, Harry & Diana W. Hamilton Foundation, Highway Barricades and Services, LLC, Howard Energy Partners, Kleberg Bank, LyondellBasell, Methodist Health Care Ministries, Occidental Chemical Corp., the Port of Corpus Christi, RWE Clean Energy, TXU Energy, Valero Corpus Christi Refineries, and many individuals.
